We designed the victory podia, medal presentation trays and athlete entrances and sculptures for this global event for Progress Productions. Mindful of budget and the complex setting and resetting of these items, amongst the tight timings and tough budgets of the games, we arrived at these fun solutions across 22 venues.
We provided production design and creative direction to this multi site art installation and public show for the opening week of the UK City of Culture year.
Working with International and local artists, we created naked blue people, giant projection, underpass disco art, lamp post décor and a whole street of shop window art installations.
We also held student workshops and drawing sessions, with artists and curators from all over the country.
The main square in Hull was lit with projection on all sides from our base at the centre, and the lake alongside swam with hundreds of paper boats from Hull school children from all around the city.
We provided full set design, costume and prop design for ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’.
Under Executive Producer, Martin Green, we delivered show designs and supported through to show day on set, with roller skating teenagers, cycling stars and rock band, ‘Embrace’.
