RUNR BSL & Human Communication Day
Oxford, UK, 2021
This event began as a small series of focussed play therapy sessions, small and larger scale painting and individual break outs for special interests. As the afternoon progressed, we explored more aerial photography and movement games with our young people.
Working with our specialist TA’s and creative facilitators, we spent time learning sign language, along with some basic Makaton language programme signs, and BSL songs and rhymes. Discussing the importance of how these skills can help us all understand each other’s views and feelings in future. Differences both visible and invisible were discussed, and thoughts were translated into a body paint sequence piece, produced as a group. As usual, we got messy!
